The Blessing of the LORD was upon the Women’s Day Choir this past Sunday at St. Mark AME church of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and it was my pleasure to sing with them to the honor, praise and glory of GOD with thanksgiving in Jesus’ name. This church has been blessed with a rich music ministry throughout its 148 (or thereabout) years which is due to a long history of singing Scripture. That is, singing the Word of God.

One song that we sang was based upon what transpired after Solomon’s prayer of supplication and dedication of the Temple. The LORD appeared to Solomon and said: “If My people who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray; seek My face, turn from their wicked ways, then I’ll hear from Heaven, I’ll forgive their sins, and I will heal their land 2 Chronicles 7:14-15. To which the composer’s sweet, sweet melody responds by faith: “we know You can LORD, and You will LORD; so we ask, please, heal our land.”

Abba Father, in Jesus’ name, may the spirit of those redeemed by the Blood increase in wisdom and revelation; that we may learn by the Teaching of the Holy Spirit how to exercise the sacred ministry-of-authority entrusted to us in the Name above all names. Thank You, Father, for Your grace and faithfulness toward us, for abundant seed in Your Word and the overflow thereof, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
