Dear Sisters and Brothers in Jesus the Christ,
Believers have an inheritance in God’s Kingdom of Light (Colossians 1:12). The evil one will attempt to make you doubt less you shine light. The father of lies (read John 8:44) is adept at deception, distortion, and distraction. I dislike battle and would prefer if Christ Jesus would throw him into the abyss already. (If you get close enough you can hear me saying, “come Lord Jesus”. Yes, I want to be taken up with the Rapture. Of course, going in the manner of Enoch (Genesis 5:24) or Elijah (2 Kings 2:11) is a beautiful thought as well. Methinks I’ll be part of the choir singing: ? Holy, Holy, Holy. All the saints adore Thee. Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea. Cherubim, and seraphim falling down before Thee. God in Three Persons, Blessed Trinity ? Ah, pardon my exuberance; I want as many as possible to be jettisoned out with the Body of Christ/the church, before the Tribulation.) All daydreaming aside, the appropriate end time of deception will be. Meanwhile, Believers take their stand against the schemes of the evil one in the full knowledge that the LORD God Almighty is with us (read Psalm 118:6-7). David said, “I come against you in the Name of the LORD God Almighty . . . for the battle is the LORD’S . . .” 1 Samuel 17:45b, 47 (NIV). Then David ran to the battle line to meet Goliath. Glory to God!
Even today, Believers have the victory sans sword because of divine favor which produces (see CKMusing54 for B. Winston’s Confession of Favor and reference). Still, I like to think folk will eventually do the right thing. Yet, those who exercise their free-will to remain in darkness set themselves against God’s light. The LORD was with David, yet Saul set his heart against David (read 1 Samuel 18). Although God anointed David to become the next king, the evil one attempted to go against it. Saul kept putting one obstacle after another in front of David; yet David experienced one victory after another. When Believers establish a one-to-one relationship with Abba Father through prayer and immerse in the things of God including the Word (read Psalm 119:10-25,89-105), obedience (read Malachi 3:10-11; 2 Corinthians 10:3-5), and growing the fruits of the recreated human spirit (i.e., love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance) nothing can hinder. It does not matter what trickery/deception the evil one parades in front of you . . . doesn’t matter what it looks like in the natural. Know that in God Believers have the victory; He protects even the simple-hearted (Psalm 60:12, 116:6). Shore up in the things of God every day in order to fortify oneself with the full armor of God; become familiar with the weaponry of a Soldier of Light. “Your Word is a lamp unto my feet, a light unto my pathway . . . and through Your Word I will understand Your Will for my life (‘cause I) hide Your Word, hide Your Word, in my heart”.
Speak the promise . . . Harriet
