The Outpouring
Early evening yesterday, I entered a store to purchase a card for my Pastor – Dr. Walter Henderson, III because our church – Berean Family Worship Center was having the first “Appreciation” in his twenty-eight years of ministry. There was an older white woman (“color” is purposely stated as we are a very race conscience society and I live in what has been termed the most segregated city in our nation) who was sort of in my way in that her cart with purse was on the side of the aisle where I was going but she was on the opposite side of the aisle. Clearly, she wasn’t paying attention (’cause in another city that purse would’ve been out the door before she realized it), so I was hesitant to walk between her and the purse in the cart. However, as time was of the essence, I moved pass both and she never glanced up. Moments later, I felt a tap on my left shoulder and turned to see her who asked in a soft voice without hesitation, “do you pray?” I responded in the affirmative to which she said, “I knew it . . . you look like a person who prays.” To make a longer story short, she asked if I would pray for her daughter living in another State who was recently diagnosed with cancer. I responded in the affirmative, and after a bit of discussion we touched & agreed in keeping with Matthew 18:19-20 and prayed in Jesus’ Name right there in the aisle. Now, I do not relay this to boast but rather to relay “this is that” of which the Prophet Joel gave utterance. That is, these are the latter days; that time between the resurrection of Christ Jesus and His second coming in which is the pouring upon of God’s Spirit.
There is nothing impossible for they who believe they’ve received of God by our Lord Jesus the Christ because the omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent God is our Abba (Daddy) Father. Yet, In order for God’s will to be done on earth as it is in Heaven, GOD NEEDS YOU (and I) because He gave dominion over all the earth to man (i.e., male, female); and God’s WORD never returns void. As it is written, God is not a man that He should either change or tell a lie. Therefore, the power of God works in and through those made sons and daughters by the blood of Jesus; the saved or reborn have (already) been given part of Christ Jesus’ anointing which readily flows through those cognizant of who they are and Whose they are in Him. Our calling is to help others by the mercy (grace) of God and His mighty power to:
heal the sick; bring God’s compassionate love to the broken-hearted; birth new citizens into God’s Kingdom of Light; and manifest finances for those in need. Of course, the Sovereign LORD doesn’t need money to accomplish whatsoever is necessary through us; He needs us to walk or operate by faith powered by divine love which unlocks the flow of The Blessing. (see Joel 2:28-29; Acts 2:1-18; Luke 1:37; Matthew 19:26; Luke 18:27; Genesis 1:26-27; Isaiah 55:11; 1Sa 15:29; Malachi 3:6; Hebrews 13:8; James 1:17; Numbers 23:19; Philippians 4:13,19; 2Co 9:8-11; Mark 11:22-24; Galatians 5:6; Hebrews 11:6).
