Dear Sisters and Brothers in Jesus the Christ,
“. . . . By faith in Christ you are in direct relationship with God. Your baptism in Christ was not just washing you up for a fresh start. It also involved dressing you in an adult faith wardrobe — Christ’s life, the fulfillment of God’s original promise. In Christ’s family there can be no division into Jew and non-Jew, slave and free, male and female. Among us you are all equal.” Galatians 3:26-28 (MSG)
“For in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God through faith. For as many [of you] as were baptized into Christ [into a spiritual union and communion with Christ, the Anointed One, the Messiah] have put on (clothed yourselves with) Christ. There is [now no distinction] neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is not male and female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:26-28 (AMP)
Faith in the only begotten Son of YHWH (with vowels YAHWEH, transliterated JEHOVAH, and commonly interpreted the LORD) who is YESHUA/JESUS enables or results in the power to become sons* of the LORD GOD. (*Note: the word son denotes maturity; indicating maturity as opposed to gender. However, I often use sons & daughters primarily for those who are in the milk of the WORD and not yet in the meat of the WORD.) John 8:36 relays the fact that freedom is “in Him”. The division consistently on display in the natural realm via one form or another (i.e., race, caste) isn’t of YHWH; division is the modus operandi (MO) of the thief that only comes to steal and kill and destroy (John 10:10a).
The power to become a son is of the Holy Spirit who is the giver of the new birth; He is the Spirit of GOD whom Jesus the Anointed One referred to as the Living Water:
“If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.’ By this He meant the Spirit whom those who believed in Him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.” John 7:37-39 (NIV)
Therefore, those of the New Covenant between GOD and man by the redemptive work of Christ Jesus are of the new birth which came at Pentecost (Acts 1:4-5 & 2:38) and rendered us sons of God. Pentecost occurred after the Lord Jesus ascended and the Spirit of God was given to all mankind by faith “in Him” (Joel 2:28-32; John 3:5-7; 1Co 6:19; Galatians 3:14b). If the Word of God is true unto you by the finished work of Christ Jesus, then what you and I used to be is no more (2Co 5:17). The new birth brought the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and a new relationship with YHWH, an intimacy that allows us to call Him Abba (Daddy) because the redemptive work of Christ Jesus rendered those “in Him” sons of God; an heir of GOD and co-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17; Galatians 4:7).
