Contrary to popular belief, “keeping it real” is perhaps one of the most toxic dispositions; its tantamount to you taking poison to get back at whomever grieved you. The thought that revenge has any value is of Satan and must be immediately cast down, in Jesus’ name. That vengeance belongs to the LORD has nothing to do with God withholding some semblance of momentary joy. Rather giving vengeance over to God keeps you and I from swallowing poison resulting in various maladies and/or malfeasance (that may even continue to rear its ugly presence for generations to come). Therefore, we are to keep God’s WORD in our mouth; whatever unexpected occurrence. Just tripped and took a hard fall? Don’t allow a single curse to be spoken; instead speak the WORD even before getting up from the ground or floor:

  •  “the chastisement of our peace was upon Him and by His wounds we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5b); I am healed by the wounds of Jesus.
  • “Who Himself bore our sins in His body on a tree, that we having died to sin, might live for righteousness—by Whose stripes you were healed” (1 Peter 2:24); I am healed by the wounds of Jesus.
