Pleasing The Sovereign Lord God Almighty . . .
1 John 3:19-20 (NIV) – “19) This (divine love) then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in (God’s) presence 20) whenever our hearts condemn us. For God is greater than our hearts, and He knows everything.”
1 John 3:21-22 (AMP) – “21) And beloved, if our consciences (our hearts) do not accuse us [if they do not make us feel guilty and condemn us], we have confidence (complete assurance and boldness) before God, 22) And we receive from Him whatever we ask, because we [watchfully] obey His orders [observe His suggestions and injunctions, follow His plan for us] and [habitually] practice what is pleasing to Him.”
Hebrews 11:6 (KJV; NKJV; NIV) – “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He exists, and that He is a rewarder of them who diligently seek Him.”
1 John 3:23-24 (NLT) – “23) And this is His commandment: We must believe in the name of His (Only Begotten Son), Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us. 24) Those who obey God’s commandments live in fellowship with Him, and He with them. And we know He lives in us because the Holy Spirit lives in us.”
