Half Dressed With Nothing To Say . . .
A significant number of those made sons and daughters of God the Father by the blood of Jesus the Anointed One are capable of surmising the comparative difference between dressing for an athletic contest and suiting-up for warfare. Yet a significant number enter into this daily warfare between God’s Kingdom of Light and Satan’s (knock-off or imitation) kingdom of darkness half dressed with nothing to say. Know ye not that you are in the midst of a war in the spirit realm? Know ye not that your fight isn’t against flesh and blood? Yes, the finished work of Christ Jesus has given citizens of God’s Kingdom of Light the victory; and the weapons of our warfare are mighty before God to the pulling down of strongholds. (And) yes, one Angel of God can put thousands to flight; yet God’s Angel(s) assigned to minister unto you will only move by the WORD. The weapons of God must be utilized to establish God’s covenant in the earth. The WORD of God must be fixed in your mind and heart. That is, God’s WORD must be in your eyes, it must be in your mouth, and it must be in your heart. Utilization of God’s Word requires comprehension AND application. Being fully dressed with something to say is to engage with the full armor of God.
“10-12 . . . God is strong, and He wants you strong. So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best material. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the Devil throws your way. This is no afternoon athletic contest that we’ll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels. 13-18 Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You’ll need them throughout your life. God’s Word is an indispensableĀ weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.” The Message: The Bible In Contemporary Language (MSG).
