Come Up . . .
The absolute purity of GOD is difficult to fathom, as man has become accustomed to looking the other way but GOD is not a man that He should change (1 Samuel 15:29; Malachi 3:6; Hebrews 13:8; James 1:17). GOD will never come down a level. Rather, created in His image and recreated by the blood of Jesus, it is expected that we come up for we are seated in Him (Genesis 1:26-27; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Colossians 3:10; 1Pe 2:18-20, 23; Ephesians 2:4-6).
GOD has asked:
- “Where are you?” Genesis 3:9
- “How long will you refuse to keep my commands, and my instructions?” Exodus 16:28
- “Is the LORD’s arm too short?” Numbers 11:23
- “Have I not commanded you?” Joshua 1:9
- “Stand up! What are you doing down on your face?” Joshua 7:10
- “What are you doing here . . . ?” 1Kings 19:9b, 13b
- “Who is this that darkens my counsel with words without knowledge?” Job 38:2
- “Since they have rejected the word of the LORD, what kind of wisdom do they have?” Jeremiah 8:7b
- “Do I lack strength to rescue you?” Isaiah 50:2 (NIV)
- “Of what value is an idol, since a man has carved it? Or an image that teaches lies?” Habakkuk 2:18
“14) For God does speak — now one way, now another — though man may not perceive it. . . . 17) to turn man from wrongdoing . . .” Job 33:14-17 (NIV)
“22) Do not merely listen to the word . . . Do what it says. . . . 25) But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it — he will be blessed in what he does.” James 1:22, 25 (NIV)
“24) Now to Him Who is able to keep you without stumbling or slipping or falling, and to present [you] unblemished (blameless and faultless) before the presence of His glory in triumphant joy and exultation [with unspeakable, ecstatic delight]— 25) To the one only God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory (splendor), majesty, might and dominion, and power and authority, before all time and now and forever (unto all the ages of eternity). Amen (so be it).” Jude 25-26 (AMP)
