Love Prayer . . .
Several years ago, upon waking-up during the still dark early morning hours, I perceived by my spirit specific Scripture in both name (chapter) and numbers (verses). Reached for pen & paper kept bedside, I scribbled Philippians 1:9-11 so that I’d remember this prompt by the Holy Spirit after returning to sleep. In the morning, before getting out of bed, I read a few variations of the original translation; and settling upon the amplified version, I meditated (seeded) this WORD about God’s kind of love (divine love), to speak it as personalized below. There is multi-fold significance to prayer regarding divine love:
- God is Love (1 John 16)
- Love is God’s command (Matthew 22:37-40; John ~ 15:12-17)
- Love is faith’s generator or operative power (Galatians 5:6)
- Love is the foremost fruit we are to produce as branches on the Vine who is Jesus the Anointed One (John 15:5; Galatians 5:22-23)
In the Name of Jesus, may the compassionate love of Abba Father who John 3:16, and the compassionate love of Jesus the Anointed One who walked in perfect obedience to the will of God the Father, and the patient love of the Holy Spirit abound in our hearts (spirit) and minds (soul), Amen.
Prayer: “Father, may my love abound more and more and extend to its fullest development in knowledge and all keen insight [that my love may display itself in greater depth of acquaintance and more comprehensive discernment]. So that I may surely grasp what is vital and of real value; that I may be sincere and without offense until the day of Christ Jesus’ return [neither stumbling nor causing others to stumble]. And that as a branch in the Vine who is Jesus, I bear much fruit to the honor, praise and glory of You with thanksgiving, in Jesus’ Name.” Philippians 1:9-11 (AMP) personalized.
