Becoming Righteous-Conscious . . .
“1) Once you were dead, doomed forever because of your many sins. 2) You use to live just like the rest of the world, full of sin, obeying Satan . . . the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. 3) All of us use to live that way, following the passions and desires of our evil nature, and we were under God’s anger just like everyone else. 4) But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so very much, 5) that even when we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from dead. . . . 6) For he raised us from the dead along with Christ, and we are seated with him in the heavenly realms—all because we are one with Christ Jesus. . . . 8) God saved you by his special favor when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9) Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.” Ephesians 2:1-6,8,9 (NLT)
To say (speak) that you are the righteousness of GOD, is to grasp the fact that “Sin shall not have dominion over you” Romans 6:14 (KJV); for you are to exercise dominion over sin because you have been clothed in righteousness by the blood of Jesus. To be clothed in righteousness describes the fact that, by the Blood, all in Christ now wear God’s clothes; He has clothed us; we now wear God’s clothing. Believers are partakers of God’s righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21). Hallelujah! This is “the breastplate of righteousness” referenced in Ephesians 6:14b; that we must be mindful of never taking it off. The whole armor of God is what enables Believers to fulfill the sacred ministry-of-authority entrusted to us in the Name above all names because putting on the whole armor of God is putting on God’s clothing.
“23) there must be a spiritual renewal of your thoughts and attitudes. 24) You must display a new nature because you are a new person, created in God’s likeness—righteous, holy, and true.” Ephesians 4:23-24 (NLT)
We are spirit with a soul (i.e., intellect, emotions) living in a body. Although the spirit of the saved is re-created or born anew, the soul/mind must be continually renewed in the Word of God by the Teaching of the Holy Spirit. Meditating God’s Word enables the ability to speak the will of God which also facilitates the spirit and soul/mind to tell the body what is allowable on it, in it, and roundabout it. That is, speaking just as the Lord Jesus did (John 5:19; 8:26b,28,38; 12:49-59; 14:10) in the way of Abba Father who called things that be not as though they were. For the promises of God are made manifest by speaking His Word. In other words, Believers don’t speak the oppression(s) of the devil. Rather, we speak the promises of God. “If the body of Christ would only grasp the truth and principles that are taught in (the Word of God), and put them in action, they could change the world. Jesus said, ‘I HAVE TOLD MY PEOPLE THEY CAN HAVE WHAT THEY SAY‘ but ‘MY PEOPLE ARE SAYING WHAT THEY HAVE.” 1
