The Great Commission
Man (i.e., male, female) is comprised of spirit, mind/soul (i.e., intellect, emotions) and body – the organism animated by the spirit and the soul. Another analogy of the body is that it “houses” the spirit because the flesh returns to the earth (of whence it’s made) when the spirit departs; yet the spirit is eternal. Hence, the Lord Jesus gave those made sons and daughters of God, by His blood, the Great Commission because we are commanded to have concern about the choice (free-will) of the lost between Heaven and Hades (hell). The enemy of God who Jesus referred to as “a liar and the father of lies” seeks to steal, kill, and destroy because his intent is on taking as many as possible away from God and into the pit of hell with him. The Son of God – JESUS came so that man might (free-will) have the choice between eternity in Heaven or eternity in Hades. However, a significant number of people are un-aware of this choice; hence the Great Commission.
Now, the reborn spirit is the higher because it has been re-created in the likeness of JESUS. Therefore, the spirit is power-filled because it has received the things of God. More specifically, those of the rebirth have been given the Spirit of God, the measure of faith, the love of God “poured into”, and the mind of Christ just to name a few. However, whereas the spirit is reborn in an instant the mind (soul) has to be renewed day by day in the WORD. Hence, our Lord Jesus, having completed His assignment, asked Abba Father to send the Spirit (big s) Who teaches the regenerated spirit (little s). Yet because the things of God are of free-will a reborn spirit can remain dormant; of which one consequence is that ‘though its eternity will be in Heaven, while on earth kingdom business is not made manifest as evidenced by good fruit and miracles. It is through the work of miracles by God’s power allowed (free-will) to work through each of His sons and daughters that a significant number will desire to run into the light; to the honor, praise, and glory of a God with thanksgiving in Jesus’ Name. Amen. (see Genesis 1:26-27; Mark 16:15-18; John 8:44 & 10:10; Romans 12:3 & 5:5).
