Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus,
rev•er•ence n. 1 A feeling of profound respect often mingled with awe and affection; veneration. ven•er•a•tion n. 1 The act of venerating; reverence; profound respect combined with awe, evoked by the high character or wisdom of a person. 2 The act of worshiping; worship. (Synonyms for both relate to adoration; overwhelming esteem; and vast affection.)
“Fear of the LORD” is significantly used in the WORD of God which refers to the reverential respect of the LORD. Love Who is God and Who commands us to love self as well as others desires our love; that we seek His face; yea . . . that we run to Him for whatsoever (i.e., peace, protection, provision); that our joy be of Him; and that our strength be from Him. Although, in His presence, we may tremble at the magnificent awesomeness of the Sovereign LORD – Creator of the universe, Love Who is God and Who continually tells us “do not be afraid” wouldn’t seek the kind of love that is based in fear because fear is diametrically opposed to faith. It is written, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV).
fear n. 1 An emotion excited by threatening evil or impending pain, accompanied by a desire to avoid or escape it; apprehension; dread. 2 Uneasiness about a thing; ap•pre•hen•sion n. 1 Distrust or dread concerning the future; foreboding; misgiving; (Synonyms relate to alarm, and anxiety.)
The kind of “excitement” described in the definition of fear is not of God; and to purposely seek true fear is not of God. Faith is trust which promotes steadfast confidence, and ease. Therefore, the WORD of God tells us to be anxious for nothing because to be anxious is a state of being troubled which promotes worry. Our Abba (Daddy) Father – the Sovereign LORD, created man for fellowship, and the glory of God was on the first Adam to such an extent that it clothed him. Hence, the first Adam wasn’t aware of his nakedness until the fullness if the glory fell from him when sin was allowed to enter into the earth because of his decision to act contrary to the wisdom of God.
The last Adam Who is Jesus the Christ, agreed to be born in the flesh; lived and ministered as the Son of Man (see John 6:27); sacrificed His sinless lifeblood for the redemption of man; died, was buried and entered into hell to retrieve the keys of death and Hades for man (see Revelation 1:17-18); and God raised Him from death by the power of the Holy Spirit and seated Him at His own right hand (see Ephesians 1:20 AMP) fully cloaked in the glory. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 (NKJV); and referring to this side of Heaven’ our Lord Jesus said, “I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).” John 10:10b (AMP). This day, those made sons and daughters of God by the blood of Jesus, endeavor to increase the glory via relationship with Abba Father through Christ Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit. (read – Nehemiah 8:10; Psalm 27:1; Philippians 4:6 [NKJV & NIV]; Luke 10:41).
Speak the promise . . . Harriet
