Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus,

All redeemed by the blood “operate under a new priesthood and a new dispensation of grace” (see Hebrews 8:6-13; Romans 4:7-8); the grace is (always) that of Yahweh/Jehovah and the new priesthood is (only) that of Yeshua/Jesus. For those in Christ Jesus, the LORD our God Who is Sovereign, remembers our sins no more and we may even bless our own self (see Isaiah 65:16a,27). To this I say the “amen”.

Funk & Wagnalls New International Dictionary Of The English Language gives three separate definitions for AMEN. The first definition given is that commonly used by Believers. The second definition given pertains directly to the true and faithful God; more specifically, Christ Jesus because through Him God’s purpose was made manifest (see Revelation 3:14; 2Co 1:20). The third definition given refers to Egyptian mythological deity.

Vine’s Expository Dictionary Of Old & New Testament Words clarifies the transliteration of AMEN from Hebrew into both Greek and English. Thereof, “the Amen” pertains to the true and faithful Yahweh/Jehovah (see Deuteronomy 7:9; Isaiah 49:7). Moreover, that God’s faithfulness necessarily renders His precepts true, and His promises as well as warnings sure (amen). As said by God it means “it is and shall be so” or “of a truth” whereas as said by man it means “so let it be” (p. 45), and/or “I agree”.

The “amen” commonly used by Believers denotes “hearty concurrence or approval” which sons and daughters of God tend to respond in display of support of the brotherhood or Family of God. As speaking spirits, however, any solicited “amen” shouldn’t be automatic unless that stated is in keeping with the WORD of God. Therefore, while I might render an “amen”, I do not seek such because as these musings are in the sight of God in Christ, I desire to please Him (rather than man).

Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. To the one we are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life. And who is sufficient for these things? For we are not, as so many, peddling the Word of God; but as of sincerity, but as from God, we speak in the sight of God in Christ.” 2 Corinthians 2:14-17 (NKJV)

Speak the promise . . . Harriet
