Rooted . . .
Whatever does not take root withers away because it has no depth in the soil. Biblical references to the heart and/or soil bespeak the reborn spirit. For man (i.e., man/male, woman/female) is comprised of spirit, soul (i.e., intellect, will, emotion), and body. Therefore, the soil of one’s heart or reborn spirit needs to be well adapted in God’s Word to produce the thirty-fold or sixty-fold or hundred-fold return. For the secret counsels of God are hidden from the ungodly, to whom the things of God and the way of God seems foolish.
• “[Things are hidden temporarily only as a means of revelation.] For there is nothing hidden except to be revealed, nor is anything [temporarily] kept secret except in order that it may be made known.” Mark 4:22 (AMPC)
• “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” 1Co 2:14 (KJV)
Those who believe and confess the Lord Jesus have received the Spirit of God within as Comforter, Counselor, and Teacher; the Holy Spirit reminds those “in Christ” of all things JESUS. Hence, the secret counsels of God which remain hidden from the ungodly are revealed to those redeemed by the blood of Jesus and have a reborn spirit. Of such is transformation by the (continual) renewal of the mind in the Word of God through the Teaching of the Holy Spirit. Howbeit, those “in Christ” read and study and meditate God’s Word for its comprehension and application.
