God’s Power Within . . .
Specific to “like precious faith” (read 2 Peter 1:1-8), and mountain moving faith (read Mark 11:23-24) that only comes by the Word of God (read Romans 10:17), Smith Wigglesworth relays that only the Word of God changes a person into a living epistle of God. For only the Word of God will transform one’s soul (i.e., intellect, will, emotions) and change one’s character, inheriting the very nature of God. Further, Smith repeated the testimony of another as to the impact of God’s Word.
- “It is supernatural in origin, eternal in duration, inexpressible in value, infinite in scope, regenerative in power, infallible in authority, universal in interest, personal in application, inspired in totality. Read it through. Write it down. Pray it in. Work it out. And then pass it on.” 1
The Sovereign Lord God Almighty is Omnipresent and Omniscient and Omnipotent; and His Spirit resides within those redeemed by the blood of Jesus. Hence, focus on the “greater works” which the Lord Jesus said the redeemed would do (read John 14:12) requires discernment that the power isn’t of oneself but of God’s mighty power (read Ephesians 1:19 & 3:20). For the Holy Spirit, who manifest the things of God which includes God’s power, is sealed within the redeemed (read Eph 1:13 & 4:30).
- “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4 (NKJV)
- “I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency].” Philippians 4:13 (AMPC)
