The Ministry-of-Authority . . .
All rendered sons & daughters of YHWH (with inserted vowels YAHWEH transliterated JEHOVAH commonly interpreted the LORD) by the redemptive work of Christ Jesus must maintain confidence about the fact that no one and nothing is more powerful that the Omnipresent and Omniscient and Omnipotent Sovereign Lord God Almighty. Of such is as YESHUA/JESUS spoke (read John 5:19 & 8:26b,28,38 & 12:49-50 & 14:10,24b), and inhibits confessions contrary to faith in God. For the devil and his cohorts neither won the war against the LORD God or against the only begotten Son of God (read Isaiah 14:12-17; Revelation 12:7-9; Luke 10:18; Colossians 2:15). Jesus the Anointed One and His Anointing did the work on behalf of all mankind for full restoration; the precious blood of Jesus ratified the New Covenant between the LORD God and mankind which also returned the Ministry of the Holy Spirit to earth. Consequently, those “in Christ” may manifest The Blessing of Abraham (i.e., material) and the fullness thereof (i.e., material, spiritual) by the redemptive work of Christ Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit. Yet though the spirit is instantly re-created or reborn or regenerated through believing and confessing the Lord Jesus (read Romans 10:9-13; Acts 2:38), the soul (i.e., intellect, will, emotions) requires renewal of the mind in the Word of God through the Teaching of the Holy Spirit.
- “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2 (NIV)
- “to be made new in the attitude of your minds, and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” Ephesians 4:23-24 (NIV)
Quality time with the LORD God through Christ Jesus as well as reading, studying, meditating and muttering God’s Word facilitates awareness when we may be tempted to believe contrary to the things or the way of the LORD God. For example, I saw where a person in social media had written post after post after post about what the devil was either doing or attempting to do to him via the manipulations of others. Whereas faith in God bespeaks that it’s true unto him according to God’s Word by the blood of Jesus; and that nothing is more powerful than God the Father. Such knowledge will enable sons & daughters of the LORD God to apply the Ministry-of-Authority in the Name above all names (read Ephesians 1:20-21 [AMP]; Matthew 28:18). James firmly exposed practice that was hypocritical to authentic Christian behavior in writing about the necessity to “walk the talk” or hear and do (read James 1:12-26). JESUS said:
- “Behold, I give you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Luke 10:19
- “And these signs shall accompany those who believe: in My Name they will drive out demons . . . .” Mark 16:17
- “. . .whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” Matthew 18:18 (ESV)
Authority is defined in the NIV Study Bible and Strong’s Concordance as:
- “persons having rightful power; the right to govern; the freedom or ability to act.” 1
- “the ability or strength with which one is endued . . . the power of authority . . . the right to exercise authority.” 2
Revelation of the information in God’s Word through the Teaching of the Holy Spirit enables comprehension about the fact that though every malady has a name, we have the Name above every name for its application. God’s Word relays that the righteous walk by faith because the promise comes by faith (read Romans 1:17 & 4:16). Therefore, in faith we may pray/ask the LORD God for wisdom and revelation as James 1:5 relayed and/or as per Ephesians 1:17; and as succinctly delineated in a prayer written long ago by Brother MacMillan:
- Prayer – “LORD, I accept Thy gracious word. I believe that Thou hast thus wrought for me. In humble faith I do now take my seat in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus at Thy right hand. Teach me how to fulfill this sacred ministry, how to exercise the authority which Thou hast entrusted to me. Train me day by day that I may attain to the full stature of the perfect person in Christ, so that in me Thy purpose of the ages may be fulfilled. Amen.” 3
