Dear Sisters and Brothers in Jesus the Christ,
The WORD of God is referred to as “the sword” because it pierces through anything and everything that sets itself to inhibit those rendered sons & daughters of the Sovereign LORD God Almighty by the blood of JESUS the Anointed One.The very first time I was moved to stand against an attack from one of the devil’s cohorts – a spirit of depression due to a financial situation which I allowed to manifest (or fostered until it festered), the Comforter, Helper, Counselor, Encourager, Advocate, and Teacher who is the Holy Spirit (John 14:15-26 & 16:7-15) led me to the immediate medicinal benefits inherent in God’s WORD. The Holy Spirit will (directly) give you the Scripture for whatsoever requires casting asunder.
At that specific point of time in my life, the Spirit of the LORD encouraged me to: (a) rise from the place in the center of my Living Room where I’d literally dropped with tears of despair, (b) move to the room where I kept the Written Word, and (c) directed my eyes onto several verses of Scripture that would prove as a type of poultice. The Scripture which I readily recall from that particular situation is Philippians:4:4-8. It is often difficult to describe the power of God working in you, through you, for you; the best description relative to the results of this particular situation is that, of confessing or speaking God’s WORD, came the peace of Yahweh/Jehovah Shalom which indeed passed all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
The primary reason that I list chapters with verses when I write is that others might put their eyes directly on the specified Scripture for themselves. God the Father desires a relationships with each of us individually; that we might seek His face: to know Him better; to know His will for our lives, to fully comprehend His love for us, to grow in our love for Him. Becoming familiar with the characteristics of God as relayed in His WORD and spending quality time with Him in two-sided conversation (asking and listening) through prayer, allows for recognition of the voice of Love who is God.
Whether overt or subtle, the purpose of the enemy’s deceivingly distractive voice is to “steal, kill, and destroy” (John 10:10), inviting as many as possible to continue walking a straight line into much mess. Assuredly, even the messiest is loved by God the Father; the thing is, however, mess can’t survive in the presence of God. Hence, the Gospel or Good News of Christ Jesus is that even the messiest can be thoroughly cleansed by His sinless blood. ” 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” John 3:16-17 (NKJV).
