Our Own Reflection . . .*
What or how does our own re-created/reborn/regenerated spirit show us to be as individuals on behalf of the collective – The Church which is the Body of Christ? Does it reflect the God-kind of love/agape/divine love?
- Hate comes in a variety of worldly flavors and/or systems
- In this country: one race or ethnicity or culture against a different race or ethnicity or culture.
- In another country: though all are of the same race, there’s a caste system re the rich against poor.
- In yet other countries: though all are of the same culture, one part of the country is against the other.
- Love comes one way; either we love, or we don’t.
By revelation of the information in the Word of God by the Teaching of the Holy Spirit we know that to manifest the promises of God requires faith, and that faith is powered or operated by love (refer to Galatians 5:6). Pertaining to the manifest promises of God, an individual might be content with scant or little but the life of those “in Christ” is about more than oneself. For all washed by the spotless blood of Jesus are citizens of God’s Kingdom and have a God-given assignment. That is, to finish the work for which the elect or sanctified (set apart ones) were restored by the finished work of Christ Jesus.
The last Adam – Jesus the Anointed One and His Anointing was sent to restore the breach created by the disobedience of the first Adam (refer to Genesis 2:16,17 – 3:1-6). YESHUA/JESUS walked in perfect obedience to the will of Abba Father for the restoration of humankind. Such bespeaks the fulfillment of mankind’s original mandate or God-given assignment, expected of each son & daughter of YHWH (with inserted vowels YAHWEH transliterated JEHOVAH commonly interpreted the LORD).
Before the breach, mankind’s God-given assignment was to:
“Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it” Genesis 1:28; such pertains to rulership.
After the breach was restored by the redemptive work of Christ Jesus, those “in Christ” are now called:
“. . . oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of His splendor.” And our God-given assignment is to “rebuild and restore the devastated places; renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations” Isaiah 61:3–4.
The Apostle John wrote that: “God is Love” 1 John 4:8,16. Such relays the fact that love is the LORD God; and the Lord Jesus is the only begotten Son of Love – the seed of God sent to be sown for the harvest of more sons & daughters who have been called out of darkness as a reflection of love. As it is written, “. . . to provoke unto love and to good works” Heb 10:24.
James the half-brother of the Lord Jesus wrote frankly albeit sternly about doing the things of God. So too, the Apostle John wrote frankly albeit it sternly about reflecting love:
“They that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought to love one another. . . . . if a person say, ‘I love God’ and hates their brother, they’re a liar; for they that loveth not their brother whom they have seen, how can they love God whom they hath not seen? And this commandment have we from him, that they who loveth God love their brother also.” 1 John 4:8,11,20,21
“Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer; and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.” 1 John 3:15
Revelation 1:6 informs that those “in Christ” are made “kings and priests unto God and His Father”; and Romans 8:17 relays that those rendered sons & daughters of God by the blood of Jesus are “heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ.” Revelation of the information in the Word of God through the Teaching of the Holy relays that the redeemed/the elect/the sanctified (set apart ones) are well equipped for success to establish God’s Kingdom throughout the earth. For whatsoever the LORD God gifted the Lord Jesus so too have those who comprise His body: “. . .power and riches and wisdom and strength and honour and glory and blessing” Rev 5:12. The Blessing of Abraham (i.e., material blessings) and the fullness thereof (spiritual blessings, authority) by the redemptive work of Christ Jesus are made manifest by faith operated by love through the power of God in the person of the Holy Spirit, Whose Ministry returned to earth upon the Resurrection and Ascension of Christ Jesus. As it is written, “For all the promises of God in Him are yea, and in Him Amen, unto the glory of God by us” 2 Corinthians 1:20. We need not look very far to “see” that the world has need of the manifestation of the sons & daughters of God (refer to Romans 8:19).
