Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus,

Scripture refers to “the angels of God”, and I do likewise in order to make a clear differentiation between them and the fallen angels that are cohorts of the enemy referred to as the dragon or the ancient serpent who is the devil or Satan (read Revelation 12:9 & 20:2) previously named Lucifer until the attempt to set himself above the Omniscient and Omnipresent and Omnipotent Sovereign Lord God Almighty; and even leading other angels into this vain effort (read Isaiah 14:12-15; Luke 10:18; 2Pe 2:4; Jude 1:6). The angels of God are also referred to as the “Hosts or armies” to which one of the many Names of God is YAHWEH SABAOTH and/or JEHOVAH SABAOTH which means LORD of Host and/or God of the angel armies, our Protector.

A footnote in The Passion Translation (TPT) of the Holy Bible (which critics argue that it’s not a translation but an “interpolation or gloss or addition”) states that the Aramaic may be translated as: “The angels are spirit-winds-of-ministry sent to minister to those destined to receive salvation.” The angels are glad to minister to us, for they see us “in Christ”.1  Due to the fact that Angels are spirit beings, we’re not able to see them with our natural eyes. Nevertheless, they’re ever present and ready to help us. For example, overnight an army arrived to arrest the Prophet Elisha, and when the prophet’s servant saw the surrounding army, he became fearful to which the prophet responded:

  • Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.’ And Elisha prayed, and said, ‘LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.’ Then the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.2 Kings 6:16-17 (NKJV)

However, the redeemed are to take great care as to the words we send forth out of own mouth because the angels of God only move by God-speak:

  • Bless the LORD, you His angels, Who excel in strength, Who do His word, Heeding the voice of His word.Psalm 103:20 (NKJV)

Therefore, we endeavor to spend quality time with the LORD God in prayer as well as reading and meditating and studying God’s Word for revelation of the information therein through the Teaching of the Holy Spirit. In so doing, we are enabled to speak in the manner of the LORD God, just like Jesus did (read John 5:19 & 8:26b,28,38 & 12:49-50 & 14:10,24b). Scripture confirms that God’s angels are assigned to minister unto those reconciled unto the Family of God by the redemptive work of Christ Jesus (read Hebrews 1:14). To minister is to serve or assist someone else.

After King Hezekiah prayed to God, the Prophet Isaiah relayed the LORD’s answer:

  • That very night the angel of the LORD killed 185,000 and the dead bodies were seen all across the landscape in the morning.2 Kings 19:35 (TLB)

And as the Body of Christ prayed for the Apostle Peter, whom Herod planned to execute to please the enemies of the Good News/the Gospel of Jesus The Christ:

  • But while Peter was in prison, the church prayed very earnestly for him. The night before Peter was to be placed on trial, he was asleep, chained between two soldiers, with others standing guard at the prison gate. Suddenly there was a bright light in the cell, and an angel of the Lord stood before Peter. The angel tapped him on the side to awaken him and said, ‘Quick! Get up!’ And the chains fell off his wrists.Acts 12:5-7 (NLT)
