On the day that YESHUA/JESUS was born, an Angel of YHWH (with inserted vowels YAHWEH transliterated JEHOVAH commonly interpreted the LORD) appeared to the Shepherds on duty that night. Suddenly, that Angel was joined by the Angel Armies of Heaven praising JEHOVAH SABAOTH – God of the Angel Armies – our Protector, and saying:

Glory to God in the Highest and on earth peace, good will to those on whom God’s favor rest.Luke 2:13-14

That is what I say upon opening my eyes in the morning; and usually before drifting off to sleep I say:

“Blessed be the LORD God Almighty, my Abba Father by the redemptive work of Christ Jesus.”

“Blessed be Jesus the Anointed One, my Savior and Lord.”

“Blessed be the Holy Spirit, my Comforter, Counselor, Teacher, and Sword.”

And I end with a Psalm –

The Angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear God and delivers them.Psalm 34:7

When Scripture speaks about “the fear of the LORD”, it’s not talking about being frightened because we have relationship with the LORD God by faith, and fear is the opposite of faith. The literal translation is revere or reverence of the LORD. Therefore, I’ll usually change the word from fear to revere when speaking or confessing Scripture. A dictionary definition for reverence is: “A feeling of profound respect often mingled with awe and affection.

As shared in in my book2, my own quality time with the LORD God, through Christ Jesus, usually includes (though not necessarily in order):

  • Confessing Foundational Scripture
  • Speaking the various Names of God
  • Various Prayers in my natural language
  • Praying in the Spirit
  • The specified “One Year Bible” reading for the day

Usually, before prayer, I’ll worship the LORD God via old/familiar songs:

  • Hallelujah
  • What Can Wash Away My Sin (Nothing But The Blood Of Jesus)
  • Oh, The Blood of Jesus
  • At The Cross
  • Thank You, LORD
  • I Love You More Each Day (That’s Why My Heart Is Filled With Praise)
  • Jesus, Jesus, Jesus (There Is Something About That Name)

This morning, while singing the song – At the Cross, the words “saw” and “sight” sort of jumped out as representative of the word “revelation”. Through study of Scripture, we may know that revelation of the information in God’s Word is through the Teaching of the Holy Spirit, Whose Ministry has been returned to earth. For Scripture relays the fact that the Holy Spirit was present when the LORD restored the earth (refer to Genesis 1:1-2). However, the first Adam’s choice to use his own free-will in disobedience to the LORD God’s strong advice or warning (refer to Genesis 2:16-17 & 3:1-6) ushered-in sin resulting in spiritual death which is the separation between the LORD God and mankind which also necessarily resulted in the departure of the Spirit of God. Thereafter, He would only be revealed to God’s Prophets until the mystery of God’s plan to restore mankind unto Himself through the redemptive work of Christ Jesus. Hallelujah! The perfect obedience of Jesus the Anointed One and His Anointing to the will of the Father on behalf of all mankind, was evidenced throughout His earthly Ministry resulting in His resurrection from death and Ascension and seating at the right hand of God the Father which made way for the return of the Holy Spirit’s present-day Ministry on earth until the 2nd Coming of Christ. To which I too say, as the Apostle John wrote: “Yes, come, Lord JesusRevelation 22:20 (AMPC)

Today, the Spirit of God lives within those who believe and confess Jesus the Christ as Savior and Lord; and the power of God manifest through Him (refer to Romans 10:9-13; Ephesians 1:19). Manifestation of God’s promises inherit in our New Covenant ratified by the blood of Jesus is by the God-kind of faith powered or operated by the God-kind of love, and the revelation thereof are both by the power of the Holy Spirit. A dictionary defines revelation as, “The act of revealing or communicating divine truth, especially by divine agency or supernatural means.1 As it is written, the Living Word is “full of grace and truthJohn 1:14; and Scripture reveals exactly Who is the divine agent because the Living Word calls Him “the Spirit of truth John 14:17. The Truth frees . . . “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you freeJohn 8:32. During His earthly Ministry, the Lord Jesus said, “. . . whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give youJohn 16:23 (NKJV). To pray to the LORD God, in Jesus’ Name, is to ask of the LORD God. One way to be assured of asking correctly and in keeping with the will of God is via Spirit-led prayer (refer to Ephesians 6:18; Romans 8:26-27); another way is to pray the LORD God’s Word back to Him (so to speak). Therefore, personalize God’s Word to pray for wisdom and revelation:

Abba Father, God of our Lord – Jesus the Christ, the Father of glory, grant me a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of You, Father. By having the eyes of my spirit flooded with light, so that I may know You better. And so that I may know and understand the hope to which You have called me, and what are the riches of Your glorious inheritance in the saints (Your set apart ones); And so that I may know and understand Your incomparably great power for us who believe, as demonstrated by Your mighty strength exerted in Christ Jesus when You raised Him up from the dead, and seated Him at Your (own) right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all principalities, and powers, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, [above every title that can be conferred], not only in this age and this world but also in the age and the world to come. And You placed all things under the feet of Jesus our Lord, and appointed Him the universal and supreme Head of the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him that fills all in all.Ephesians 1:17-23 (from NIV & AMP [combined & personalized].)
