23  whatever you ask the Father in  My name He will give you.   26  I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf.   27  for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came forth from God. . . . . . 33  I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.John 16:23,27 (NKJV) verse 26b,33 (NIV)

The Lord Jesus is The Overcomer, and those “in Him” may also overcome in the peace of Jehovah Shalom. Anything we pray/ask the LORD in keeping with the way of GOD (1 John 5:14-15), He will do. GOD always answers . . . yes, always; He tells us in Psalm 91:14-16 we may rely on Him. That YHWH, with inserted vowels – YAHWEH, transliterated – JEHOVAH, and generally translated – “the LORD” isn’t a respecter of persons (Acts 10:34) means that GOD sees none, of those who believe and seek and trust and revere Him, higher or lower than the other. For YESHUA/JESUS, who walked in perfect obedience to the will of GOD on behalf of all mankind, fixed it such that Abba Father sees each of us as He sees the Lord Jesus. I often sing the Refrain of a song: “Jesus paid it all, All to Him I owe. Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow”.1  For we are partakers of the New Testament/New Covenant between GOD and mankind which was ratified by the blood of Jesus. Therefore, we are entitled to run to Abba Father.

I must admit, however, that the more I grasp the full dimensions of Christ Jesus’ love (Ephesians 3:18), the clearer it seems how much help I actually need from the LORD. So, sometimes I stop in the midst of praying for others and sing: “It’s me, it’s me, it’s me O Lord, standin’ in the need of prayer. It’s me, it’s me, it’s me O Lord, standin’ in the need of prayer. Not my brother or my sister . . . . Not my mother or my father . . . . Not my stranger or my neighbor . . . .”.2  More often, however, I simply say: “help me LORD” and He always does which sometimes includes being re-directed to what He has said. For example, Scripture specific to wisdom that I usually confess or affirm daily. The revelatory Teaching of the Holy Spirit made available as we study and read and meditate and mutter the Word of God daily, enables comprehension for those who Matthew 6:33 and its application by those who Mark 11:22-24.
