Dear Sisters and Brothers in Jesus the Christ,

Those I refer to as the “watchmen” of the Old Covenant were the Prophets through whom God the Holy Spirit spoke to the world through the chosen nation. These Prophets weren’t always welcomed or appreciated; hence, under the false assumption that death might somehow halt the plan of the Sovereign LORD God Almighty or that it (death) might arrest God’s WORD, a significant number of these Prophets were killed. For the ways of the world — its assumptions, its value, its methods of going about its work — are never on the side of God. Never.“1

Hear the WORD of the LORD as relayed through the prophet Isaiah: 8-11 “I don’t think the way you think. The way you work isn’t the way I work.’ GOD’s Decree. ‘For as the sky soars high above the earth, so the way I work surpasses the way you work, and the way I think is beyond the way you think. Just as the rain and snow descend from the skies and don’t go back until they’ve watered the earth, Doing their work of making things grow and blossom, producing seed for farmers and food for the hungry, So will the words that come out of my mouth not come back empty-handed, They’ll do the work I sent them to do, they’ll complete the assignment I gave them.” Isaiah 55:8-11 (MSG).

Now (today), although by the power of God the Holy Spirit a prophetic word may be spoken by one who has received the gift of prophecy (1 Corinthians 12:10 & 14:1-5), the Holy Spirit is no longer limited to just a few people. Rather, all who believe and confess JESUS as Savior & Lord receive the Holy Spirit (John 14:26; Galatians 3:14; John 16:7-13; Acts 1:8). This day (today) we are partakers of a New Covenant established by God the Father through the finished work of Christ Jesus, “the Revealer and Mediator” of God’s will (1 Thessalonians 5:18 [AMP]) which is in God’s WORD.

Jesus the Anointed One only spoke and did that which He heard of the Father (John 8:38 & 14:10). Nevertheless, a significant number refused to believe Him “26 . . . but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. 27  My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28  I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. 29  My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. 30  I and the Father are one.” John 10:26-30 (NIV). The WORD of God is not the world’s.

Speak the promise . . . Harriet
