I Thessalonians 5:18b (AMP) – “Christ Jesus is the Revealer and Mediator of God’s Will.”

John 5:19 (NLT) – “Jesus said, ‘I assure you, the Son can do nothing by Himself. He does only what He sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does.”

John 8:26b, 28 (NLT) – “26) . . . For I say only what I have heard from the one who sent me. . . .  28) When you have lifted up the Son of Man on the cross, then you will realize that I am he and that I do nothing on my own, but I speak what the Father taught me.”

John 8:38 (NKJV) – “I speak what I have seen with my Father . . .”

John 12:49-50 (NLT) – “49)  I don’t speak on my own authority. The Father who sent me gave me his own instructions as to what I should say.  50)  And I know his instructions lead to eternal life; so I say whatever the Father tells me to say!”

John 14:10 (NKJV) – “. . . The words that I speak to you I do not speak on my own accord, but the Father who sent me commanded me what to say and how to say it.”

The Lord Jesus was able to speak only what God the Father said because He knew the Father’s voice; and He could recognize the voice of the Father because He knew the essence or character of GOD. Therefore, Jesus was able to discern whose voice was speaking to Him at all times. Those reconciled unto the Family of God by the blood of Jesus have been given the same ability to recognize the voice of God by the power of the Holy Spirit because the essence or character of God the Father is made known in His WORD. The teaching(s) welcomed and received by the Holy Spirit brings revelation of the information in the Word of God. Of course, such requires spending quality time with GOD as well as studying and meditating on His WORD; and when another voice says “there is no time for that” you may know it wasn’t the voice of GOD.
