Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus,

But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory,  which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But as it is written: ‘Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.’ But God has revealed them to us by His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.  For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.  Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the thing that have been freely given to us by God. 1 Corinthians 2:7-12 (NKJV)

The Living Word told the woman at the well, that God the Father is Spirit; and the Written Word tells us that God created humankind in His image and commissioned  us to: increase in number (fill the earth), be fruitful producers (replenish the earth) and subdue (dominate the earth). Therefore, humans are first and foremost a spirit just as the LORD God is Spirit; the difference is our flesh because every spirit requires a physical body in order to operate on the earth/in planet earth. Humans are tripartite: a spirit who has a soul (i.e., intellect, will, emotions) and lives in a body. Both the spirit and soul are eternal whereas the flesh isn’t. In other words, when the flesh or physical body ceases to exist, the spirit with the soul continues to live. However, where that spirit and soul resides eternally depends on the free-will decision previously made. More specifically, if a person’s free-will decision chose YHWH (with inserted vowels YAHWEH transliterated JEHOVAH commonly interpreted the LORD) through YESHUA/JESUS, they will live with the LORD God; Whom those already reconciled by the redemptive work of Christ Jesus unto the Family of God are entitled to call Abba Father. For the spotless blood of Jesus paid the ransom that redeems and re-creates the spirit by which we are reconciled unto the LORD God as His sons & daughters with all rights & privileges restored.

Redemption by the spotless blood of Jesus precedes the instantaneous re-creation or rebirth of the spirit that allows reconciliation with God and as such, that individual is a new person – they’re not the same. For the reborn spirit has neither familiarity nor condemnation in regard to what the old spirit might’ve been a partaker. So, when the devil – “accuser of the brethren” sends a postcard about the past, we remind self that spirit is dead – the reborn aren’t back there because rebirth moves forward as opposed to backwards. Howbeit, the rebirth of Apostle Paul who relentlessly persecuted the early Church (Body of Christ) enabled him to say that he “wronged no one”.  Moreover, the LORD God is Judge, and the Lord Jesus is our Advocate. Therefore, Scripture relays that when we slip or have a fault or false step or sin, confess it to the LORD and repent (which involves a change). To be clear, salvation doesn’t give license to sin because the God-kind of love poured into a re-created spirit by the Holy Spirit doesn’t desire sin. However, the soul (i.e., intellect, will, emotions) isn’t instantly renewed because of training in the way of the world from infancy. The soul must be transformed by renewing of the mind in the Word of God through the Teaching of the Holy Spirit. Although we were given the measure of faith at the onset of salvation, it must be further developed in the WORD: reading, listening, studying, meditating, muttering, and confessing God’s Word. Assuredly, the flesh likes to do whatsoever it desires. Nevertheless, quality time with the LORD God through Christ Jesus as well as attentiveness to the Holy Spirit further develops the reborn spirit and renewing of the mind. In turn, both the spirit and the soul are strengthened in the ability to dictate to the body what it’s going to do (not vice versa).
