Malfeasance, malevolence, maladies are all of “the thief who only comes to steal and kill and destroy” (John 10:10a). It’s a lie of the devil that the LORD God sent satan to afflict Job. GOD is LOVE. Job revered the LORD God as reflected in response to his wife’s blasphemous suggestion (Job 2:9-10). Although the last part of Job’s response indicates a lack of discernment that trouble, trials and temptation aren’t the modus operandi of LOVE (James 1:13). Yet to be fair, partakers of the Old Testament/Old Covenant between God and humankind significantly pertained to The Blessing of Abraham (all material blessings), exception being God’s Prophets who also displayed authority. For partakers of the New Testament/New Covenant between God and humankind by the redemptive work of Christ Jesus bestowed the fullness of The Blessing – both material and spiritual blessings with authority in the Name above all names to bind & cast down (Matthew 18:18-19; Mark 16:15-18; Romans 8:28; Ephesians 6:11-18). The devil’s access through Job’s hedge (so to speak) was inadvertently allowed via the fear spoken and acted upon (Job 1:1-6). Scripture relays, however, that the LORD God restored Job “and blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning” Job 42:12-17 (ESV). As this was before the blood of Jesus – the redemptive work of Christ Jesus – the finished work of YESHUA/JESUS, how much more have those “in Christ”? As it is written: “power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing” Revelation 5:12 (KJV).
