Dear Sisters and Brothers in Jesus the Christ,

The Sovereign Lord sets before us the Way of life; allowing choice as to whether we shall enter upon the road of life or the road leading to destruction. The Lord God Almighty continually encourages us to choose life.

The Narrow Gate The Choice of Life or Death
13 “You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose the easy way.14 But the gateway to life is small, and the road is narrow, and only a few ever find it.” Matthew 7:13-14 (NLT)  “Today I have given you the
choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, that you and your descendants might live!” Deuteronomy 30:19 (NLT)

Moreover, we are never left alone to clear debris, move roadblocks or avoid booby traps on the path of righteousness. With abounding love, Abba Father gave us:

  • The Written Word as a road map or GPS device (read Psalms 119:105; Isaiah 55:11; Matthew 4:4; Ephesians 6:17; Hebrews 4:12; James 1:22).
  • The Living Word, our Blessed Assurance, the Great Intercessor, our source of eternal salvation – Christ Jesus as the Word made flesh, a living example of how to walk in the Way of Our Father (read Isaiah 11:1-3; John 1:1-2; Heb 4:14-15, 5:7-10).
  • The Spirit of Truth as personal power for wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, knowledge, reverence and love for God in what we do as we walk in the Way (read John 14:26, 16:13-15; Romans 8:26-27; 1Co 6:19; 2Co 3:3; Galatians 6:7-10).

Believers choose life, and the battle to remain on the path of righteousness is not a battle of the mind. Rather it is a battle for your mind in which the opposition’s tactics include deception via distortion and distraction. Ah, but the Believer who spends quality time in God’s Word become adept at recognizing right from wrong (read Hebrews 5:14). Moreover, by the power of the Holy Spirit, Believers increasingly lack desire to do contrary to God’s Will (read 1 John 3:6-10).

Confession: In Jesus’ Name, I thank You Abba Father for (my) right standing in the Family of God through Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Truth: It is the Will of God that I am delivered from the evils of this present world. It is true unto me according to the Word of God. (Galatians 1:4; Psalms 119:25b).
