Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus,

“And I will bless them that bless you, and curse him that curses you; and in you shall all families of the earth be blessed.” Genesis 12:3 (KJ21 my emphasis)

Those reconciled unto the Family of God by the blood of Jesus are considered the seed of Abraham. Therefore, any who attempt to curse you are themselves ill-fated, and any who bless you receive a blessing. “For Abraham is the father of us all. He is not our racial father—that’s reading the story backward. He is our faith fatherRomans 4:16 (MSG). Further, those reconciled as sons and daughters of God by the redemptive work of Christ Jesus are also given The Blessing of Abraham (Galatians 3:14). For righteousness was accounted to Abraham because he believed that God could do what He said He would do . . . every promise. Abraham is the father of the “Faith Movement” so to speak. Perhaps a significant number might perceive Enoch as faith’s forerunner but God took him alive. (God neither puts sickness on people nor kills them, that’s the devil’s forte or modus operandi.) Noah also might be considered faith’s forerunner. However, after God had already confirmed the 2nd Covenant between Him and all mankind (Genesis 6:18 & 9:9-17), Noah planted a grapevine, got drunk, and essentially put the curse back into the earth by cursing one of his three sons (Genesis 9:24-25). Ah, but God! . . . He who is Love (1 John 4:8,16) and ever faithful toward mankind (irrespective of our stiff-necked, hard-headed, we-be-doing-it-on-our-own tendency) is Omniscient. God knew that Abram – later renamed Abraham (Genesis 17:5) would follow-through in teaching the way of God to his children (Genesis 18:19); from Isaac to Jacob – later renamed Israel (Genesis 32:28) through to the twelve tribes of Israel. Hence, Scripture often refers to ELOHIM as the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. However, as if the Sovereign Lord God Almighty required her assistance, Sarai – later renamed Sarah (Genesis 17:15), suggested a course of action to her husband (Genesis 16:1-4) which would result in a great nation of twelve tribes (Genesis 21:12,13,18 & Genesis 25:13-16), the descendants of Abram’s son – Ishmael; that though blessed of God were neither destined to nor would receive The Blessing because God said that The Blessing would BE through Isaac (Genesis 22:17-18).

Isaac had two sons – fraternal twins named Jacob & Esau (Genesis 25:21-26). Esau’s descendants became the nation of Edom; the Edomites lived in the hill country with kings who reigned long before or prior to any Israelite king. Nevertheless, The Blessing would BE through the twelve tribes of Israel. To be clear, though Genesis 27 delineates that the favoritism & deceit of their mother – Rebekah played a role, Genesis 25:29-34 relays the fact that Esau had given away his birthright for food . . . much like Genesis 2:16-17 & 3:1-6 reflects food as the contributing factor in the first Adam’s treason which ushered sin and every malady and malfeasance thereof into the earth. (Later, the Edomites would act against their relatives [the Israelites] in such a manner that would bring the vengeance of the Lord God but that’s getting too far ahead at this point.) It may also become apparent that deceitful behavior might’ve been common in Rebekah’s family because when Jacob fled to Rebekah’s brother (Genesis 26:41-44), Uncle Laban showed himself to be a shrewdly crafty manipulator. Essentially, Jacob’s mother had encouraged him into sowing a seed(s) of deceit, and a deceit-filled harvest was about to be made manifest. For Uncle Laban switched his nephew’s wages ten times among other things (Genesis 29 through Genesis 31). Once more, Jacob fled, this time with his family, vast herds increased by God’s blueprint (Genesis 31:10-13), and the necessary “employees”. True to form, Uncle Laban was in hot pursuit of his nephew. Ah, but God! Who told him to be real careful about how he even spoke to his nephew (Genesis 31:24).

To dwell in the secret place of the Most High is to abide under the shadow of the Almighty, it trust God to be both refuge and fortress; He saves from the devil’s snare, He covers us; “in Him” we find protection; His faithfulness is our armor and protection (Psalm 91). Those who endeavor to do in the way of God do so by the finished work of Christ Jesus. That is, our perseverance and strength is by His mighty power in us (Ephesians 3:29). These are they who run sans weariness and walk sans fainting (Isaiah 40:31); who have the firm-footed confidence to decree the promises of God by what they say followed by what they do. Believers endeavor to seek God’s will in all we do, that He may direct our paths (Proverbs 3:6). Therefore, we pay attention to God’s Word because His words are life to those who adhere, and medicine (health) to their re-created spirit and to their soul i.e., intellect, will, & emotions and to their physical body (Proverbs 4:20-22). Those who are redeemed, re-created, reconciled, and restored every right & privilege as sons and daughters of God by the Blood were given The Blessing of Abraham (Galatians 3:14). Yet, the promises of God are gifts, and a gift has to be received before it can be of use. Otherwise, the gift is rendered dormant or undeveloped. Faith takes! In other words, by faith we take out of the spirit realm whatsoever (in keeping with the way of God) is needful for its manifestation in the natural realm. “For God has reserved a priceless inheritance for His children. It is kept in (the heavenly realm) for you, pure and undefiled beyond the reach of change and decay1Pe 1:4 (NLT). Your inheritance as sons of God and co-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17) is kept for you; from “the thief who only comes to steal and kill and destroy John 10:10. “But without faith it is impossible to please God because they who come to God must believe that He exists, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek HimHebrews 11:6. Declare yourself a diligent seeker, and follow-through by developing a personal relationship with Abba Father through Christ Jesus. The Ministry of the Spirit of God – the Spirit of Truth – the Holy Spirit is now in the earth to show us how. The Living Word said, “it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom!Luke 12:32. All honor, praise, and glory to Abba Father, with thanksgiving in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Speak the promise . . . Harriet
