Dear Sisters and Brothers in Jesus the Christ,

Galatians 5:6 tells us that hesed or agap? or the God-kind of love empowers faith; divine love is the force of faith. God’s kind of love or divine love is unconditional whereas human love or natural love is conditional. More specifically, human love or natural love will flow freely dependent upon whether or not an expectation or condition is met; if the conditions aren’t met it’s withdrawn. Essentially, human or natural love says: “If you, then I”; and human love may turn to hate in a blink of an eye when expectations aren’t met. There are no pre-conditions in regard to the God-kind of love or divine love; GOD loves and meets each person who invites Him into their life just as it is. It’s impossible to pretend our character is something other than it is because God who is Omniscient knows us better than we know ourselves. Although God is a respecter of free-will, He is ever faithful in helping humans created in His likeness (Genesis 1:26-27), regardless of how hard-headed and stiff-necked we prove ourselves to be. Yet, the God-kind of love is also stern (as parents are stern in correcting their children); walking in the God-kind of love is far from serving as a doormat.

When the first Adam used free-will to go against God’s strong advice (Genesis 2:16-3:6), His compassion and faithfulness toward humankind didn’t cease. Rather, God entered into blood Covenant after blood Covenant until the set time of the seed (John 12:24). GOD so loved the world that He sent His only begotten Son as the seed sown for the harvest of more sons and daughters (John 3:16; Galatians 3:29; 1Pe 1:23). For the sinless seed – Jesus the Anointed One and His Anointing walked in perfect obedience to the will of God the Father so that we may (free-will) have abundant life (John 10:10b). The Living Word personified God’s plan to redeem, re-create, reconcile, and restore mankind to Himself through the birth, ministry, death and resurrection of YESHUA/JESUS. Then, after the finished work of Christ Jesus, God the Father sent the Holy Spirit who abides within each of us as Comforter, Counselor, and Teacher (John 14:16,17,26 & 16:13; Acts 1:8; Romans 8:26; 1Co 6:19; 2Co 5:5; Galatians 3:14; Ephesians 1:13).

The Old Covenant between God and man involved mankind’s observance of Ten Commandments and an additional 600+ laws of which no law had less weight than another. In other words, one law broken was equal to all the law being broken. The redemptive work of Christ Jesus mediated a better Covenant (Hebrews 8:6) ratified by His blood; and this New Covenant involves mankind’s observance of one root command: “love one another John 13:14 & 15:17. Since the Word of God informs that the God-kind of love – hesed or agap? or divine love empowers faith, and we are to operate by faith (Habakkuk 2:4b; Matthew 17:20b & 21:21; Mark 11:22-24; John 14:12; Romans 1:17; 2Co 5:7; Galatians 3:11; Hebrews 10:38), then it is imperative to walk in the God-kind of love which also forgives and forgets (Mark 11:25; Matthew 6:14-15 & 18:21-22). In other words, we may confess Scripture on a daily and all day long to exercise faith but absence of the God-kind of love will inhibit the manifested promises of God (i.e., divine healing, health, wealth) bestowed by the redemptive work of Christ Jesus. Therefore, may we also endeavor to develop the God-kind of love through reading, studying, meditating, muttering, and speaking God’s Word specific to hesed/agap?/divine love.

  • Matthew 22:37-40 (MSG)Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence.’ This is the most important, the first on any list. But there is a second to set alongside it: ‘Love others as well as you love yourself.’ These two commands are pegs; everything in God’s Law and the Prophets hangs from them.
  • John 15:12 (KJV)This is my commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you.
  • John 15:17 (MSG)But remember the root command: Love one another.
  • Romans 5:5 (KJV). . . the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost (who) is given unto us.
  • Colossians 3:14 (NKJV, NIV, NLT)And above all things put on love”.
  • Psalm 32:10b (MSG)GOD-affirmers find themselves loved every time they turn around.
  • Galatians 5:6 (NLT)What is important is faith expressing itself in love.
  • Galatians 5:14 (NLT)For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.
  • “I walk into every situation with LOVE who is GOD because the love of God has been poured into my heart by the Holy Spirit.(1 John 4:8,16; Romans 5:5)
  • The love of God has been shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Ghost. I shall endeavor to let that love nature dominate me. I have God’s love nature in my heart — my spirit. Therefore, I’ll not let my natural human reasoning dominate me. I refuse to allow flesh to rule me. I’m going to walk in the Spirit of love so that it can grow and increase. One way I will practice the God-kind f love is by taking no thought for a suffered wrong. I will also practice thinking the best of every person so my love can grow and develop, and I can be a blessing to many. I will make the love of God my great quest in life, for then my love shall abound, and God shall reap the glory. 1

 Speak the promise . . . Harriet
