I suspect it didn’t hurt or disappoint YESHUA/JESUS any less to know in advance that Simon/Peter, whom the Lord Jesus proclaimed as the rock upon which the church – the Body of Christ would be built (Matthew 16:18), would deny Him three times before a Rooster crowed once (Luke 22:31-34, 55-62; John 13:37-38 & 18:17-27). Nevertheless, the Lord Jesus prayed that Simon/Peter would be strengthened – calling things that be not as though they were. And knowing that Simon/Peter would be somewhat distraught or feeling low about his contradictory behavior while in the courtyard, Christ Jesus sought to comfort him and know he was forgiven. Therefore, the Angels of God said to the women who went to the tomb to anoint the Lord Jesus’ body:

“He has risen! . . . go tell His disciples and Peter” Mark 16:6-7 (bold emphasis mine). 

“He has been raised from the dead! . . . go and give this message to His disciples, including Peter” Mark 16:6-7 (NLT [emphasis mine]).

Oh! That we “may have power, together with all the (sons & daughters of God) to grasp what is the length and breadth and depth and height – the full dimensions of the love of (the only begotten Son of LOVE who is GOD), and to know this hesed/agape/unconditional love that surpasses knowledge, that we may be filled with all the fullness of God“ Ephesians 3:18-19 (NIV & MSG personalized with substitutions in parentheses).
