In addition to the aforementioned, the redeemed call Him “Abba” which is Aramaic for Daddy (and a more personal title) or “Father” or “Abba Father” (Mark 14:36; Romans 8:15; Gal 4:6) because we are His children by the redemptive work of YESHUA/JESUS. As defined in Vine’s Expository Dictionary (1996), use of the word “Abba” bespeaks unreasoning trust whilst “Father” expresses intelligent apprehension of the relationship. However, Scripture relays that the Lord Jesus used both “Father” and “Abba Father” denoting fullness of trust as well as depth of understanding in regard to His relationship with the Sovereign Lord God Almighty. It is by the blood of Jesus who is the firstborn and the faithful witness and the first begotten of the dead and the Prince of the kings of the earth (Romans 8:9; Revelation 1:5) that redemption gave us re-created spirits which enabled us to be reconciled unto GOD and sealed us with the Holy Spirit; and we too may develop a personal relationship with Abba Father.
