And when the chief priests and leaders brought their charges against him, he did not say a thingMatthew 27:12 (CEV)

He was oppressed and afflicted, yet He did not open His mouth; He was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before shearers is silent, so He did not open his mouth.” Isaiah 53:7 (NIV)

The only begotten Son of God prayed three times to His Father (Who became our Father by the Blood of His sinless life):

  1. Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours be done.’ Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him. And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like drops of blood falling down to the ground.” Luke 22:42-44 (NKJV)
  1. My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done.” Matthew 26:42 (NKJV)
  1. “. . . He went away and prayed for the third time, using the same words.” Matthew 26:44 (AMP)

The precious Lamb of God was spit on, slapped, punched, whipped, and taunted by those for whom He came that they might have abundant life:

  • . . . If you are God’s Son, save yourself and come down from the cross! . . . . He saved others, but he can’t save himself. . . . he should come down from the cross! Then we will believe him.Matthew 27:40-42 (CEV)

But He wouldn’t come down from the cross just to save Himself; He decided to die just to save you and me. For only through His life, death, and resurrection would salvation manifest for all mankind. Therefore, Jesus the Anointed One and His Anointing walked in perfect obedience to the will of God the Father just for me and you. Jesus is Lord because He came and fulfilled His mission statement:

18 The Spirit of the LORD [is] upon Me, because He has anointed Me [the Anointed One, the Messiah] to preach the good news (the Gospel) to the poor; He has sent Me to announce release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to send forth as delivered those who are oppressed [who are downtrodden, bruised, crushed, and broken down by calamity],  19 To proclaim the accepted and acceptable year of the Lord [the day ‘when salvation and the free favors of God profusely abound. [Isaiah 61:1-2].Luke 4:18-19 (AMP)

As it is written, “Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed . . . . the Lamb that had been slain . . . .” for the redemption and re-creation and reconciliation and restoration of humankind unto God by the sacrifice of His sinless lifeblood.

4 Yet it was our sicknesses he carried, it was our diseases that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God for his own sins.  5 But he was wounded and crushed for our sins. He was beaten that we might have peace. He was whipped, and we were healed.  6 All of us have strayed away like sheep. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the LORD laid on him the guilt and sins of us all.Isaiah 53:4-6 (NLT)

The redemptive work of Christ Jesus rendered those “in Him” heirs of God and co-heirs with Him (Romans 8:17). Therefore, on this side of Heaven those “in Christ” may partake by faith powered by divine love that which He received of God the Father: “power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessingRevelation 5:12 (KJV). All to the glory of God the Father, with thanksgiving in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
