Dear Sisters and Brothers in Jesus the Christ,

5 . . . Our only power and success come from God. He is the one who has enabled us to represent his new covenant. This is a covenant, not of written laws, but of the Spirit. The old way ends in death; in the new way, the Holy Spirit gives life. . . . . . 18 And all of us have had that veil removed so that we can be mirrors that brightly reflect the glory of the Lord. And as the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like him and reflect his glory even more. 2 Corinthians 3:5b-6, 28 (NLT)

Scripture relays that YHWH (with inserted vowels YAHWEH transliterated JEHOVAH commonly interpreted the LORD) spoke with Moses face to face in The Tent of Meeting and when Moses left the tent to return to camp, his young aide – Joshua son of Nun did not leave the tent. In today’s language, Moses would be seen as Mentor and Joshua as a Protégé whose attention to the way of the LORD through observation, listening and doing in obedience, resulted in Leadership with neither arrogance nor fear because Joshua believed in God and believed God; there is a difference. For it is written, even demons believe in God (James 2:19). However, actions contrary to the way of God bespeaks unbelief that the LORD is Sovereign and that God’s Word is Truth. Joshua son of Nun believed:

  • The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be stillExodus 14:14 (NIV)
  • Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.Deuteronomy 31:6 (NIV)

Joshua’s actions exhibited full confidence (belief) that the LORD would keep His Word. Scripture describes a number of scenarios about what typically occurred when an Angel of God appeared: those who sensed such would run away in fear, and those who saw would shudder with such fear almost to the point of death and unable to speak; and the Angel of God would have to speak/say: “fear not” (Daniel 10:7-12; Luke 1:11-13,28-30 & 2:8-10). Yet Scripture relays that when an Angel of God with a drawn Sword appeared, Joshua approached to ask: “Are you for us or for our enemies?Joshua 5:13-15 (NIV). We may know that Joshua son of Nun was anointed for the successful completion of his assignment because the LORD God commissioned him. Long before David became a King as well as a Prophet and a Priest, he too was anointed to fulfill his God-given assignment. David exhibited the same kind of fearless zealous for the LORD God as he didn’t just walk toward but ran toward the giant (1 Samuel 17:48), Further, by revelation of the Holy Spirit it might be surmised that in order for a rock to sink into (as opposed to bounce off , simply leaving a bump/knot) such was probably taken and thrown by an Angel of God at the speed of a bullet. For as revelatory wisdom by the Spirit of God relayed to us through David, “the battle is the LORD’s . . .”.

The myriad Names of God depict the various ways we need the LORD and that He provides for our every need. In regard to victory, the Name of the LORD is  JEHOVAH NISSI – The One Who does miracles, delivers, saves, and gives us the victory. Joshua son of Nun as well as David and a significant number who were partakers of the Old Testament/Old (blood) Covenant sought the LORD God. Partakers of this New Testament/New (Blood) Covenant have a great advantage because we are “born again and Spirit-filled”. Nevertheless, we too must actively seek the LORD. For though our spirit was re-created or regenerated by the spotless blood of Jesus, the soul (i.e., intellect, will, emotions) must be continually renewed in God’s Word by the Teaching of the Holy Spirit, Whose present day Ministry is on earth until the Second Coming of Christ. Therefore, the Spirit of God is within us, the anointing of God is on us, the healing power of God is through us, the wisdom of God is being formed in us, the peace of God surrounds us, the favor of God is upon us, and the love of God (the God-kind of love) is being perfected in us. The power of God works through each of us by Prayer. Those made the righteousness of God by the redemptive work of Christ Jesus are called out of the dominion of darkness and into the Kingdom of the only begotten Son of God to uplift others. Though the devil still sends giants in an attempt to restrain partakers of the New Testament/New (Blood) Covenant, the finished work of Christ Jesus fixed it such that the devil is illegal in the lives of those rendered the people of God by the spotless blood of Jesus. For YESHUA/JESUS walked in perfect obedience to the will of God the Father on behalf of all mankind by only doing and saying as He saw of the Father. As disciples of Christ, we also succeed in our God-given assignments by studying God’s Word and listening to God’s Spirit; in so doing, we are enabled to:

  • exhibit the fact that the Kingdom of God prevails
  • decree a thing
  • use the authority bestowed in the Name above all names
  • loose the power of God within for miracles, signs, and wonders
