Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus,

With God nothing is impossible.Luke 1:37 (KJV)

“. . .with God all things are possible.Matthew 19:26 (NIV)

During the a.m. recently, a co-worker and I were about to pass each other in greeting when she stopped and asked me to pray for her daughter. This is one of those strong women who handles-her-business (so to speak) and not of low self-esteem, who rarely (if ever) divulges the pressures of life. It seemed to me that this particular approach was in the knowing that “nothing is impossible for GOD”.

However, as I reached toward her to “touch and agree” in keeping with Matthew 18:18-19, she turned her body to elude whilst stating that her past behavior prevents her from approaching GOD. To be perfectly clear, that’s a lie from the devil – accuser of the brethren (Revelation 12:10). The Lord Jesus said, “When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of liesJohn 8:44c (KJV). Unaware of this trickery she further elevated the duplicity with seeming humility in stating that she “has too much respect for GOD to approach Him given her past”. The response to such deception is to make it plain: it’s not what you do; it’s what Jesus did for you.

It is written, “8) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  9) Not of works, less any man should boastEphesians 2:8-9 (KJV). Further, “1) So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.  2) For the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you through Christ Jesus from the power of sin that leads to deathRomans 8:1-2 (NLT). Conviction is of the Holy Spirit for which to repent in the Name above all names, and turn away from or change settles the matter; whereas condemnation is of the accuser. Those reconciled unto the Family of God by the finished work of Christ Jesus operate by faith (Romans 1:17) that the Word of God is Truth; and faith that is strengthened by the Teaching of the Holy Spirit, operates in the knowing that it is also true unto them according to God’s Word.

Believers are strongly advised to “put on” the whole armor of God every day which includes (not limited to) the sword that is the WORD of God, the shield of faith that quenches all the fiery darts of the enemy, and all kinds of prayer i.e., supplication, intercession, in the Spirit or tongues, (Ephesians 6:16-18). The Lord Jesus encourages us to have God’s kind of faith and urges prayer. “Embrace this God-life. Really embrace it, and nothing will be too much for you. This mountain for instance: Just say, ‘Go jump in the lake’ — no shuffling or shilly-shallying — and it’s as good as done. That’s why I urge you to pray for absolutely everything, ranging from small to large. Include everything as you embrace this God-life, and you’ll get God’s everything . . .Mark 11:23-24 (MSG).

Speak the promise . . . Harriet
