I usually sing several different songs to the LORD before climbing onto His lap in prayer. (I tweaked the lyrics of the songs below just a little bit but the tune remains the same):

I just want to thank You LORD, for all You do for me, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
I just want to thank You LORD, for all You do for me, e, e,
I just want to thank You LORD, for all You do for me, e, e,
I just want to praise You, praise You, praise You, praise You LORD, for all that You do, You do for me, e, e, e, e . . .

Should, due to lack of ability to carry a tune, the choir or praise team isn’t the correct “lane” to be in, staying in the appropriate “lane” is a non-issue in the privacy of personal time with the LORD Who delights in the love shown to Him through praise:

I love You, I love You, I love You more each day, ay, ay, ay,
for what You gave to me, in such a special way, and
LORD I praise You, I lift You up, I magnify Your Name,
that’s why my heart is filled with praise.
My heart, my soul, it all belongs to You, ou, ou, ou
for what You gave to me, way back on Calvary, and
LORD I praise You, I lift You up, I magnify Your Name,
that’s why my heart is filled with praise,

And typically this will move into a medley of sorts beginning with:

JESUS, JESUS, (my) JE,E,E,E,SUS
there is something about that Name
Master, Savior, (my) JESUS
like a fragrance after a rain, ain, ain, ain, ain, ain
(My) JESUS, JESUS, (my LORD) JE,E,E,E,SUS
let all Heaven and earth proclaim
kings and kingdoms may all pass away, ay, ay
but there’s something about that . . .
(JESUS, JESUS, [my] JE,E,E,E,SUS;
YESHUA, YESHUA, YE,SHU,A;
JESUS, JESUS, [my LORD] JE,E,E,E,SUS)
