I often think on man’s propensity to transgress and veer off the path of YHWH (with inserted vowels YAHWEH, transliterated JEHOVAH, commonly interpreted the LORD).

  • Adam whose free-will decision, contrary to the clear and concise advice of GOD, ushered sin into the earth and into all mankind (Genesis 2:16-17 & 3:6-7).
  • Cain who committed the first murder due to selfishness and jealousy of his brother – Abel’s free-will gifts to GOD (Genesis 4:3-8).
  • Noah who didn’t just cuss-out/cuss-at one of his three sons for seeing him asleep unclothed having drank too much of the grape; Noah spoke a curse over his son – Ham, who would become the father of Canaan, whereas he spoke a blessing over each of the other two sons – Shem and Japheth (Genesis 9:20-27).
  • Saul who was the first anointed to be king of the nation, exercised flagrant disregard of God’s instruction via the Prophet Samuel that lost his anointing as king (1 Samuel 9:15 & 10:1 & 13:13-14).
  • Solomon whom GOD gifted with wisdom, insight, breadth of understanding and wealth that surpassed all others; his only need involved retaining integrity toward GOD which he eventually elected to forgo (1 Kings 3:5-13 & 9:4-7 & 11:1-10).
  • Jeroboam who God made king over ten northern tribes decided to lead the kingdom away from God by having idols made in the image of golden calves and more which caused the nation to commit egregious sins that led to the entire destruction of his own family, and a significantly negative impact on the nation (1 Kings 12:25-33).

Though the above may seem to primarily exemplify self-aggrandizement, such had dire consequences for more than their personal surroundings. For evil begat evil as reflective by the atrocities and/or utter cruelty of mankind against humanity. (Perhaps needless to say) perpetrated by the devil and the cohorts thereof from the time of Adam’s free-will decision and throughout the ages. Yet, in the midst of prayer, I’m reminded that GOD who is LOVE sent Jesus the Anointed One and His Anointing who agreed to come, and walked in perfect obedience to the will of LOVE who is GOD just because He too so loved us. The mystery of the plan of JEHOVAH revealed: JESUS – “God saves” (Luke 1:31 & 2:21), Immanuel – “God with us” (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23). All honor and glory and praise to God the Father, with thanksgiving in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
