Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus,

26 In certain ways we are weak, but the Spirit is here to help us. For example, when we don’t know what to pray for, the Spirit prays for us in ways that cannot be put into words.  27 All of our thoughts are known to God. He can understand what is in the mind of the Spirit, as the Spirit prays for God’s people.  28 We know that God is always at work for the good of everyone who loves him. They are the ones God has chosen for his purpose,  29 and he has always known who his chosen ones would be. He had decided to let them become like his own Son, so that his Son would be the first of many children.  30 God then accepted the people he had already decided to choose, and he has shared his glory with them.”  Romans 8:26-30 (CEV)

Oh! how glorious to be a chosen one of the Sovereign Lord God Almighty. As I read Romans 8, I was so emotionally moved that I was compelled to pray in the Spirit. I’ve read it a significant number of times before but even if it were possible to utilize all 120 years of a lifespan the LORD God has given humans (Genesis 6:3b), there aren’t enough years in a lifetime to know everything in God’s Word in regard to revelation by the Holy Spirit of the information therein. At the onset of each new calendar year, I look forward to beginning a One-Year Bible reading schedule, obtained from one of the ministries I partner with which is accessible to the public (though I partner with three different ministries, only one provides this type of daily schedule annually). The idea of an annual read-through of God’s Word might appear monumentally monotonous to a significant number of people but that would be a whisper from the father of lies (John 8:44c). For the very last thing the thief who only comes to steal and kill and destroy (John 10:10a) wants is for those reconciled by the blood of Jesus unto the Family of God to unlock the facts which include, just to name a few: that we are royalty with all rights & privileges restored; that we have unlimited access to whatsoever is needful; that we may utilize a 24/7 protective umbrella; and more. Whatsoever God the Father bestowed the Lord Jesus: “power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessingRevelation 5:12 (KJV), Who walked in perfect obedience to the will of God the Father on behalf of all humankind, so too have those “in Him”. Glory to God! Nevertheless (and perhaps needless to say), it’s difficult to take by faith sans awareness of all bestowed by Abba Father; such is tantamount to a gift given that’s not received (whether or not intentional). In other words, it’s needful to be aware as well as confident that it is true unto you according to 1 Peter 1:4 by the blood of Jesus. For the Living Word said He came that we “may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflowsJohn 10:10b (AMP). Though the Lord Jesus fully satisfied the hard part, the redeemed – the elect – the chosen – the church which is the Body of Christ Whom God the Father appointed the “universal and supreme Head” Ephesians 1:22-23 (AMP), have far more to do than sit-n-wait in regard to the Second Coming of Christ. That is, we are Ambassadors of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20), kings & priests (Revelation 1:6 [KJV]), “called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of His splendor” (Isaiah 61:3b), with the assignment(s) to:

  • effectively use the ministry-of-authority (Matthew 18:18 & 28:18)
  • birth new citizens into God’s kingdom, bring healing to the sick, cause finances to come to those in need, and reflect God’s compassionate love to the brokenhearted (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:15-18)
  • do the greater works (John 14:12)
  • be producers of good fruit (Galatians 5:22-23)
  • continue the Mission Statement whereof the Lord Jesus stopped reading and rolled up the scroll of Isaiah 61 (Luke 4:17-21)
  • rebuild and restore and replace devastated or ruined cities (Isaiah 61:3-11)

For the Sovereign Lord God Almighty – Who, by the blood of Jesus, we may call Abba Father sends His sons & daughters well equipped to fulfill each and every assignment by the guidance of the Holy Spirit (John 14:17,26 & 16:13; Acts 1:8; Romans 8:9). All glory and honor and praise to God the Father, with thanksgiving in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Speak the promise . . . Harriet
