9 “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall
reap, if we faint not. 10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do
good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household
        of faith.”                                                Galatians 6:9-10 KJV

Galatians 6 speaks to us about doing good to all, and that concept is in keeping with the fundamental principle to love. As believers, we know that God is love. Moreover, that the law of love is the law of Christ –

34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved
you, so you must love one another. 35 By this all men will know that
you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13: 34-35 (NIV)

As disciples of Christ, therefore, the focus of our ministry is derived from the commands specified by the Son of God –

21 “Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who
loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too
will love him and show myself to him.”             John 14:21 (NIV)

Believers must move beyond comprehension into application for the ability to “walk the talk”. The refocus is in the “doing”, because when behavior is in accordance to God’s Word we are blessed with whatever (i.e., knowledge, skills, tools) we need to serve others. Therefore, to minister to the present age requires a believer to be equipped with God’s Word in their heart –

 20 “ . . . attend to my words; incline thy ear unto my sayings. 21 . . . keep
them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they are life unto those that find
them, and health to all their flesh.  23 Above all else, guard your heart,
for it is the wellspring of life.”                      Proverbs 4:20-22 (KJV)

The malnourished become tired or weary. Therefore, it stands to reason that a believer who grows tired or weary of doing good (to all) suffers the malaise of a malnourished spirit. When we do as God commands, we gain energy because our spirit feast on the bread of life. For example, the power derived from knowing that “He who is within me is greater than he who is in the world” actualizes because we take it to heart; we believe it deep within.

The ability to behave in keeping with our royal lineage, is a manifestation of developing intimacy with the Lord God. Developing a one-to-one relationship with God requires:

Acceptance of God’s Will for your life via the Word of God.

  • Reading the bible daily, to access His Word

Communicating with God every day.

  • Speaking
  • Praying

Doing God’s Will

  • Behaving in love toward others
  • Tithing

Thanking God

  • Worship
  • Praise

All of the aforementioned contribute to strengthening the spirit within each of us. The healthier the spirit within, the more it can commune directly with the Spirit of the Lord.

As children of God, each of us has God’s Spirit within us. Therefore, our purest form of energy, that which nourishes us, that from which we derive our sustenance is delivered from the Word of God and the Spirit of God. The Word of God and the Spirit of God are life giving, and life sustaining. As long as we take great care to feed the spirit within, it is not possible for us to grow feint.

When we “walk the talk” we incorporate the Spirit of the Lord. In so doing, we come to know abundance in the fruits of the Spirit: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Gentleness, Goodness, Faith, Meekness, and Temperance. Therefore, refocus on growing the spirit within so that your light renders it plain that what you “do” is of God. When that which is done is of our Heavenly Father, the spirit within is buoyed because it is nourished by the Word of God and the Spirit of God.

1 “Therefore, since through God’s mercy we have this ministry,
we do not lose heart. 2 . . . we do not use deception, nor do we
distort the word of God. . . . by setting forth the truth plainly we
commend ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.”
                                                              Corinthians 4:1-2 (NIV)
