Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus,

But those who wait on the LORD will find new   strength. They will fly high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow   weary. They will walk and not grow faint.Isaiah 40:31 (NLT)

Before the smooth asphalt that gives way to potholes, I can recall that York Street, in the largest of the five boroughs that comprise NYC (namely Brooklyn), consisted of bricks which were firm and sturdy and immovable, yet difficult to skate on because the mortar between made slight dips. The WORD of GOD is like unto bricks upon which we may stand firmly footed on the promises of GOD of which one is that He’ll never leave nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6; Joshua 1:5; Psalms 27:19, 37:25, 94:14). “. . . for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let you down (relax my hold on you)! [Assuredly not!]Hebrews 13:5 (AMP).

GOD is ever faithful, and our faith develops as we act on His WORD. The Living Word who is JESUS said that, in so doing, we build a house upon a rock that doesn’t fall because the roots thereof are deeply imbedded (Luke 6:47-48). “Therefore, [inheriting] the promise is the outcome of faith and depends [entirely] on faith, in order that it might be given as an act of grace (unmerited favor), to make it stable and valued and guaranteed . . .Romans 4:16 (AMP). It is the grace of God the Father that bestowed the gift(s) by the blood of Jesus the Anointed One; it is the love of GOD that Jesus paid it all.

Those made sons & daughters of GOD by the finished work of Christ Jesus aren’t perfected by the trials and tribulations caused by Satan. Rather, we are perfected by the WORD through the ministry gifts of JESUS. “ 11 He is the one who gave these gifts to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers.  12 Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of ChristEphesians 4:11-12 (NLT). We are to grow up “to know the whole truth and tell it in love — like Christ in everything. We take our lead from Christ, who is the source of everything we do.Eph 4:15 (MSG). God the Father appointed Jesus the universal and supreme Head (Ephesians 1:22 [AMP]) and we are the Body of Christ; hence we are nourished through Him. (And) receiving nourishment through Christ Jesus necessarily means  we are rooted in (divine) love upon which faith hangs like a curtain on a rod; for faith is powered by God’s kind of love (Galatians 5:6).

Praying Philippians 1:9-11 The Amplified Bible (personalized) – Abba Father, in Jesus’ name, May my love abound more and more and extend to its fullest development in knowledge and all keen insight. (May my love display itself in greater depth of acquaintance and more comprehensive discernment.) That I may surely discern what is vital and of real value; so that I may be both sincere and without offense until the day of Christ Jesus’ return (neither stumbling nor causing others to stumble). That as a branch of The Vine who is JESUS, the fruit of righteousness is evident to the honor, praise, and glory of GOD.”

Speak the promise . . . Harriet
