Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus,

Listen, Heavens, I have something to tell you. Attention Earth, I’ve got a mouth full of words. My teaching, let it fall like a gentle rain, my words arrive like morning dew, Like a sprinkling rain on new grass, like spring showers on the garden. For it’s GOD’s Name I’m preaching—respond to the greatness of our God! The Rock: His works are perfect, and the way he works is fair and just; A God you can depend upon, no exceptions, a straight-arrow God.Deuteronomy 32:1-4 (MSG)

Although the Names of YHWH, with inserted vowels – YAHWEH, transliterated – JEHOVAH, and generally translated – “the LORD” are numerous, there is only One. That is to say, we don’t worship many gods, we worship the “King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God our Savior” (1 Timothy 1:17; Jude 1:25). The myriad Names of GOD attempt to describe and/or identify the characteristics or various attributes of the LORD. For example, Deuteronomy 32:35a and Romans 12:19 and Hebrews 10:30 all reiterate the fact that vengeance and recompense is of the LORD. Therefore, ongoing renewal of my soul (i.e., intellect, will, emotions) in God’s Word via revelatory Teaching of the Holy Spirit is enabling me to let go The Big Payback of James Brown and get on The Love Train of The O’Jays. Perhaps, such best explains my zeal or penchant for:

  • YAHWEH-SABAOTH – Translated: “The LORD of Hosts.” Meaning: JEHOVAH OF THE (HEAVENLY) ARMIES.1 God is savior, protector, and LORD of the Angel Armies.2 As revealed in 2 Kings 19:35 just one Angel of God struck 185,000 within the enemy’s camp. When YESHUA/JESUS allowed His arrest (John 18:4-11), He said “Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and He will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions* of angels? But how then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen in this way?Matthew 26:53-54 (NIV).

Almost daily, I’m moved by a particular attribute within a Name of GOD, and earlier it was:

  • JEHOVAH-RO’I – Translated: “God seest me.” Meaning: GOD (IS) THE ONE WHO SEES ME. This is the descriptor that was given by Hagar when she fled after bad treatment, and the Angel of God brought her a message (Genesis 16:13). As Duplantis, J. (2016) delineates it, “My Shepherd. You guide me with love and correct me with kindness. You are my Companion and my Friend. You cherish me. You lead me. You instruct me and call me by my name. Jesus is my Good Shepherd. I know His voice and answer when He calls. Thank You for being with me day and night, caring for my soul. I choose to serve You and live in the shadow of Your great love.” 3
